We are delighted to launch our Showcasing Talent, Achieving Results (STAR) Awards for 2020. At Cedar we are committed to recognising those involved in our organisation who consistently go ‘above and beyond’ what is expected of them to help us in achieving our Vision of ‘An inclusive society for all’. The STAR Awards recognise staff, volunteers and User Forum members who are committed to achieving excellence in their role and living our Values.

Nominations & Applications can be made by Cedar staff only.

We are encouraging nominations and entries from individuals and teams against the following categories:


Improving and Innovating Award

for exceptional improvement or innovation in service delivery (corporate and operational).

There are three sub categories: -

Proposed innovation: this is where an idea has been proposed but not yet implemented

Innovation already implemented: for innovations/developments which have already been delivered within the service - Using Technology to improve the lives of people with disabilities:

Innovations which have been implemented and which have particularly used technology to enhance the lives of our service users



The award includes a trophy, a gift voucher and a cash prize to be spent on an activity or development associated with the improvement or innovation and approved by the winner’s Director.

Customer Service Award

For providing exceptional service to internal or external customers. This award includes a trophy and gift voucher for the individual or team.

Last years Customer Service Award was won by Rena Hughes, for her role as Day Activity Support Worker at Karuna our residential home for those living with learning disabilities.




Making a Difference Award

Is for User Forum members or Cedar Volunteers who have made a positive difference to the work of the organisation. This award includes a trophy and a gift voucher for the individual.

Better Together Award

For internal or external partnerships that delivered better services through collaborative approaches. This award includes a trophy and a small financial award (gift voucher) for the individual or team.

All categories are open to individuals and teams and can be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague or manager.
