We are excited to announce that Jurys Inn, the leading Irish and UK hotel group, is delighted to announce Cedar as its corporate charity partner for the next two years. During the partnership, Jurys Inn and Cedar will work together to promote opportunity, choice and inclusion in the workplace for people living with disability, autism and brain injury in Northern Ireland. The partnership will also focus on raising awareness of the barriers people with disabilities face getting into and retaining fulfilling employment, such as negative attitudes towards disability in the workplace.

Speaking about the new partnership, Jason Carruthers, Managing Director at Jurys Inn, said:

“We’re extremely excited to be starting this new partnership with The Cedar Foundation. We’ve always admired the charity for the fantastic work that they do for people living with a disability across Northern Ireland and we’re looking forward to a successful partnership.”

Jurys Inn kicked off its fundraising activities in 2018 with its  ‘30-day charity step challenge’, encouraging staff to complete 10,000 steps for 30 days, with a particular focus on Friday 20th July when the whole company was challenged to, and successfully completed, 30 million steps in just one day!

Together, Jurys Inn and Cedar aim to raise awareness of the disability employment gap – the difference between the employment rate of people with disabilities and non-disabled people.

Cedar’s Chief Executive Stephen Matthews said:

We are delighted that Jurys Inn has selected Cedar  as one of their charity partners for the next two years.  We really value the interest and enthusiasm that Jurys has shown in relation to supporting people living with disabilities, brain injury and autism to live the lives they choose. This support will directly contribute to the delivery of Cedar’s wide-ranging services.”

In addition to the partnership, Jurys Inn will be working with Scope UK, Capability Scotland, and The Rehab Group in Ireland to ensure that it is making a positive difference in all of the communities that it serves. All money raised by Jurys Inn and its customers will be distributed between the four charities.
