On Tuesday 10th May Cedar’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Group launched the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy at Ravenhill Reach. The event recognises the dedicated work of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Group who have developed the ‘My Mind Matters’ programme which will support and educate Cedar staff on issues around mental health. Through consultation with staff teams the group created a diverse series of monthly sessions and information packs that will be delivered directly across the organisation. These resources were created to highlight different areas relating to mental health awareness and self-care.

Speaking at the event a member of the team said:

"I am delighted to be part of the MH&WB Innovation Team, taking a whole organisation approach to building a culture that champions positive mental health, finding ways to make conversations about mental health more common and promoting a greater understanding of how to support people with changing mental health."

The group was established in November 2021 to affirm and develop the aspirations of Cedar’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It reflects the Mental Health Strategy 2021 - 2031 established by the Department of Health. Members of the team reflect the range of services across the organisation and represent staff at every level of employment.

The group will continue to develop programmes through further consultation, action plans and a review process. This event is an important step in Cedar’s commitment to creating a mental health friendly company culture, supporting all staff working in the Third Sector.
