Image shows a collage of people wearing Cedar t-shirts and celebrating at Pride. We were proud to join with many organisations to celebrate Learning Disability Pride. The event took place in Carrickfergus and revolved around the theme ‘Do Your Thing’ and celebrated the positive impact that those with learning disabilities have on our communities.

Karuna’s thing this year was Superheroes and they delivered! The costumes were fantastic and everyone gave their best effort in the preparations.

The day was full of fun and festivities. The carnival parade along the Marine Highway to Carrickfergus Castle, led by none other than BAFTA, Oscar & IFTA winner James Martin, was the showcase.

The theme music for the day, 'Do Your Thing' by Basement Jaxx, was the inspiration for organisers this year and the dance moves were on show. Carrickfergus Senior Gateway, Northern Health and Social Care Trust, Mencap NI, Caring Breaks, Sense, Kilcreggan Homes, Praxis Care, Positive Futures, AEL, My Community and Cedar were excited to have so many people join the event and embrace the theme through all the interactive activities on offer. Thanks to all involved for a fabulous day!
