Our services Living Options Residential care Karuna Karuna provides residential care for up to ten adults who have Learning Disabilities and associated conditions aged between 18 and 65 years on the first day they move in. Karuna aims to provide high standard accommodation and support for our residents in a purpose built bungalow, which has single bedroom accommodation. The home originally opened in 1999, is a large detached bungalow set in its own grounds about half a mile from Carrickfergus town centre. It is situated close to the railway and bus station and the residents have easy access to a full range of local facilities. Application and allocation: Referrals for service provision at Karuna are received through Health and Social Services Care Management. Your application form is forwarded to the referral agent for completion and requests comprehensive information about your physical, psychological, social and emotional needs. Upon receipt of your completed application form, the Cedar Foundation admission panel determines the suitability of the facility for you. Discussion will take place between you or your representative, The Cedar Foundation and Care Management. If your application for Karuna is successful you'll be invited to visit the home together with your family or representative. If there is no immediate vacancy, we'll place you on a waiting list and let you know when a place becomes available.
