Trevor has realised his ambition to transform his home and more with support from Cedar’s Floating Support service. Trevor’s Floating Support Worker Síofra has been working with him since October 2021.

So far, he has received support with benefits to ensure he was getting what he is entitled to and supported to find local groups in the community he can join. Síofra delivered support with housing repairs and sourcing household items. With a particular focus on updating Trevor and his partner’s home Síofra made a referral to the Lagan Valley Vineyard Church Home Support Service in February 2022 to help them transform their house as it was very cluttered.

Over the past six months Lagan Valley Vineyard Church Home Support Service have worked alongside Trevor and his partner to assist in decluttering Trevor’s bungalow, clean the house, and purchase some essential household items. They have also worked with Habitat ReStore Lisburn and their ‘House to Home Project’, who painted rooms, and provided new sofas and bed for Trevor.

Trevor said:

‘This has changed our lives getting the house transformed. Our lounge has lovely new comfy sofas and new carpet put down. We are both very happy and overjoyed with the house transformation. Lagan Valley Vineyard Church Home Support have been so helpful and generous’.

Síofra will continue to work with Trevor to maintain the house by creating a weekly planner of household tasks and helping them find a cleaner that can help assist him with keeping his home clean and tidy.
