'Team work makes the dream work'

Bailey has been supported by Cedar to increase his employability skills and undertook some one-to-one sessions to help prepare him for his work placement. Bailey successfully completed training that included travel training and interview skills and he soon secured a work placement in Via Wings [Dromore]; which has helped him to further develop his skills, whilst additionally increasing his confidence.

Bailey said, "I love going into work and I have learned so much"

Recently Bailey was also supported with increasing his social skills and meeting new friends, were he was introduced to Bolster [Newry]. Bailey now attends Bolster on a weekly basis and stated that he loves attending there as well; he has met new friends and enjoys the activities and opportunities that are on offer.

Since commencing Bolster Buddies, Bailey stated, “I have made some new friends and I have enjoyed being more independent”. “I have loved learning how to make candles and I am looking forward to day trips over the summer and the residential away”.

When Bailey is attending Bolster Buddies, he has the opportunity to try a varied programme of activities aimed at promoting independence, choice and inclusion. Bailey is currently working on his own personal goal which is 'managing his money' and having the chance to play football.
