Young People take part in exciting summer activities This summer a group of young people engaged in a Transitions Cedar summer scheme focused on emotional health and wellbeing awareness. A variety of activities were designed to encourage the young people to have confidence in their own abilities and future choices, as well as having fun.The summer scheme began with a North West Regional College orientation day. This allowed the young people to understand the different types of support the college offers. It also offered the opportunity to meet with the Learning Support, Careers and Finance teams. A tour of the college and team building games organised by the Clubs and Societies team rounded off an exciting and interesting day.Other summer scheme activities included a Mental & Emotional Health workshop by Mindset as well as a Wellbeing Awareness programme. This programme focused on recognising the signs challenging our emotional health and gave advice and tips on what we can do to access help and support available. In addition, the group had the opportunity to display some serious creativity with Jumping Clay and T-Shirt Printing in the Fab Lab, compete in a bowling tournament, and finally, explore the Ulster Museum (taking the chance of being Belfast direction to do some city shopping!). Big thanks to all the young people for taking part.
