The recent User Forum regional meeting was one with a difference. Representatives met and welcomed Stephen, Donna & Frances to their new roles as Newry, Belfast and Downpatrick Chairs. The event also provided an opportunity to say an enormous thank-you to Jim, Anne and Margaret who have fulfilled these roles to an exceptionally high standard.


Speaking at the event Stephen Mathews, Cedar CEO, said:

“Jim, Anne and Margaret have touched the lives of people they haven't met. They have been influencers and created a strong body of impactful work through the User Forum.”



Offering gratitude for their valuable input he went on to welcome the new Chairs noting:

Representatives enjoyed tasty refreshments and discussed future plans. Finally, Jim, Anne and Margaret were presented with specially crafted plaques for their service to the Forum.

What is the User Forum?

Cedar’s User Forum are focused on making a positive difference to the lives of people with disabilities. They want to empower disabled people to influence and inform services that will support them to live fully inclusive lives. They are person centred, approachable and supportive of all who use our service.

The forum is made up of Cedar service users who are prepared to challenge poor practice and seek service improvements. To achieve they we consult and communicate with service users, management, staff and external agencies.
