First Year Students from Clanrye Group’s Training for Success programme have been supported by specialist support staff from the Cedar Foundation to design and operate a bespoke social enterprise programme. This focused on developing the work preparation skills of the students. A variety of roles were allocated to encourage the young people to develop and utilise their skills. They created a business plan to launch their Christmas business venture, designing Christmas sweet characters, and they named their business ‘Magical Munchie Mates’.

Order forms were distributed and interest and support exceeded all expectations. The group began production and students learned a variety of essential work skills including; team work, creativity, problem solving, motivation and taking responsibility for their role in the business. These newly acquired skills supported the confidence of the students in their own abilities as well as providing the opportunity for plenty of fun along the way.

Chief Executive Stephen Mathews and Head of Employability Kieran Molloy couldn't wait to try theirs!
