Drivers
The Cedar Foundation provides quality support, care, accommodation and training services to enable disabled adults and children to participate in all aspects of community life. To support our work we recruit volunteer drivers to enhance the independence of service users by providing transport to access a range of activities and events within their local communities.
Volunteer Drivers are required within our Living Options Services based in Belfast and Lisburn.
Volunteer Drivers will transport individuals or groups of service users, using a Cedar Foundation minibus, to and from social or events within the community. The role also involves providing assistance to service users in getting in and out of the minibus and ensuring they are transported safely and comfortably. This includes the use of relevant equipment such as tail lifts, ramps, side steps, wheelchair clamps and safety belts.

- Ardkeen, 86 Marlborough Park North, Belfast, BT9 6HL
- Ballymacoss House,1 Johnston Way, Knockmore Park, Lisburn, BT28 2AQ
- Twisel Lodge, 19a Church Avenue, Holywood, BT18 9BT
Hours:
There are no set times for the activities engaged in by service users and some events may take place at weekends or during the evening. Time commitment is flexible and ideally Volunteer Drivers should be available 2- 3 hours per week on a regular basis to assist with planned activities.
Skills Required:
Volunteers Drivers must have a full clean driving license, be in good health and be aged over 25 years of age with a minimum of 2 years driving experience,
Other essential skills are a responsible attitude, patience, empathy, reliability and a genuine commitment to working as part of team to help others.
Some experience of driving a minibus and working with the public are also desirable.
