Thursday 27 July 2017

Final year Students from Fleming Fulton successfully completed an Independent Travel OCN course. This was a fun and interactive six week programme and covered a variety of useful topics. Students were shown how to use timetables, problem solve any issues that arise on journeys and they also gain valuable knowledge about identifying who can provide assistance should the need arise.

The students invovled worked within a team for the duration of the course and completed the training by planning their own day trip by bus to Belfast City Centre.

The course was facilitated by the Transitions team within Children and Young Peoples Services. Cedar's Transitions Service is an early intervention service that enables young people to make appropriate choices when moving on from school to Further or Higher Education, training or employment ensuring they achieve their maximum potential.
