Ben Nevis Conquered for Cedar

Thursday 02 June 2011

Ben Nevis Conquered for Cedar Engaged couple, Jackie Stewart and Jonny Halliday travelled to Scotland to climb the UK’s highest mountain, 4,409 ft. tall Ben Nevis, on Saturday 28th May in aid of Cedar.

Jackie explained why she and Jonny decided to raise funds for us, “My 8 year old nephew has cerebral palsy and has greatly benefited from Cedar services and so has a family friend’s son who is 2 years old who suffers from hydrocephalus.  We’re hoping to raise £500 to help the charity continue their work to support other families in similar situations.”

Ben Nevis Conquered for Cedar Jackie continued “Both Jonny and I really enjoyed the climb although the weather was changable with sunny spells mixed with rain, hail stones and at the summit as you can see from the photo there was a lot of snow and it was freezing, so needless to say we didn't stay too long.  As we made our way back down from the snowy conditions and we thawed out we really felt a great sense of achievement and are really glad that we took on the challenge for The Cedar Foundation. We are thinking about our next challenge sometime next year.”

So far Jackie and Jonny have raised over £800. If you’d like to sponsor them, you can do so online by visiting their fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/jacqueline-stewart
