Dave Takes to the Skies

Dave Takes to the SkiesSouth Belfast man Dave Todd is raising funds for The Cedar Foundation by piloting a helicopter for a sponsored soar among the clouds on Saturday 25th June.  Dave is a tenant of Cedar’s Supported Living Service in Finaghy and hopes to raise £1,000 to help children and adults with disabilities across Northern Ireland.

Following a training session and safety brief, Dave will enter a Robinson R22 helicopter which will depart from Newtownards Airfield and travel down and around the Ards Peninsula.  Dave will take control of the aircraft for part of the 30 minute flight and will be given a debrief on how well he did from his instructor once they land.

Dave Takes to the SkiesDave explains why he is taking on the challenge; “I'm moved to do so much for The Cedar Foundation because they do so much for people like me.  For anyone who knows me, this helicopter ride could prove to be both amusing and exciting, (and more than a little nerve-wracking) but it’ll be fun and it’s all for a good cause!”

Dave has been placing buckets and tins in local shops and business in the Finaghy area and has been encouraging people in the community to support him by donating whatever they can.  If you would like to support Dave you can visit his online fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/dave-todd .
