The Cedar Foundation User Forum making a positive difference

The User Forum The Cedar Foundation User Forum is a forum that enables people with both physical disabilities and brain injuries to develop and apply the personal and committee related skills required for full and active participation in the decision making process of The Cedar Foundation.

Our Vision is to be a user forum that is realistic and focussed about how we can make a positive difference to The Cedar Foundation, its users and members. We aim to achieve this by consulting Cedar's Work Recognised and communicating with service users, management, staff and members of The Cedar Foundation. We will also monitor and feedback on activities, service delivery/ developments of the organisation. We will do this by being informed and informing everyone connected to the organisation. We will use social and other opportunities to further identify and develop our effectiveness in the above area.

Northern Ireland Best Practice Event

On 20th May over 60 delegates from a range of public, community and voluntary sector organisations attended The Cedar Foundation’s Best Practice Event in Malone Lodge.

Fundraising Rush in Craigavon

Nearly £8000 was raised by brave Adrenaline Rushers who zipped across Craigavon Lakes recently to raise money for Northern Ireland Disability Charity, The Cedar Foundation.

Training for Life after Brain Injury

The Cedar Foundation chose the theme A Life Less Ordinary – Train for Life after Brain Injury to promote Brain Injury Awareness Week which took place from 31st March – 4th April 2008.

Fire'N'Ice, 18th October 2008

Fire’N’Ice is a unique opportunity to undertake a once in a lifetime challenge while raising funds for disabled people in Northern Ireland. It will consist of a Glasswalk, followed by a Firewalk.

Abseil, 20th September 2008

The Cedar Foundation is looking for brave people to raise funds for our work by taking the plunge down the side of the Invest NI Headquarters in Belfast.

Irish Four Peaks Challenge

Ascend the highest peak in each of the four provinces of Ireland in a challenging 36 hour period. With the event fully managed by the ascent team, you will have the opportunity to undertake a once in a lifetime challenge in safety and comfort while raising funds for The Cedar Foundation.

1000 Mile Challenge

Can you go the distance and help The Cedar Foundation cover 1000 miles in 2008 and help raise 10,000 pounds for disabled children and adults in Northern Ireland.

Overseas Challenges

Horse riding in Mongolia, Brazil or accross the Andes, Canoeing on the Zambezi River, Cycling in Cuba, China, South Africa or Sri Lanka, Camel Riding through the Sahara, or Trekking in many different and interesting places, the choice is yours.
