Brain Injury Services
Brain Injury can affect anyone at any time in their life. There are approximately one million patients in the UK who present to hospitals each year with head injuries. In many cases the individual will make a complete recovery in a very short time. For others they are left with significant behavioural, cognitive, emotional and physical damage (Royal College of Surgeons, 1999). These individuals may find that due to their injury they face challenges and barriers when they try to re-enter the workplace or in managing their daily living tasks in the home.
The Cedar Foundation Brain Injury Service aims to create opportunities and support people to develop skills that will enable them to achieve their personal rehabilitation goals for work and managing the housing responsibilities that come with living independently.
All services are person centred and based on partnership working with individuals, their families, other health professionals and local community links with employers, training providers, colleges and support services.
