Workable
The Workable (NI) Programme is offered through a consortium consisting of The Cedar Foundation, RNIB, NOW project and The Orchardville Society. The Programme aims to provide support for both employees and employers to ensure people with disabilities find and keep appropriate jobs.
The Programme provides person centered support to enable disabled employees to integrate into the workplace. The Workable (NI) Programme will assist employers in meeting the needs of their workforce by providing support, promoting equality and encouraging progress into unsupported employment.
Eligibility
- Have a disability
- Age 16yrs or over
- Live in Newtownabbey, Lisburn or Belfast
- Starting work 16+ hrs per week or currently employed but at serious risk of losing your job as a result of disability

- Encourage and support career development
- Provide support and opportunity to move into unsupported employment
- Offer support to people facing barriers at work
To the Employer
The programme will-
- Support you to develop an effective workforce
- Offer intensive support, particularly in early stages of employment
- Promote equality of opportunity in the workplace
- Encourage an ethical, non-judgmental approach
- Provide guidance in developing natural supports, including training for co-workers
- Provide access to advice and guidance on/off site
