Volunteer Support Workers
The Cedar Foundation provides quality support, care, accommodation and training services to enable disabled adults and children to participate in all aspects of community life. To support our work we recruit volunteers to assist service users in achieving personal goals.
Volunteer Support Workers are required in various departments across the organisation and in the local community where service users may require additional support. Our main service areas are:
- Training Services
- Brain Injury Services
- Children & Young People's Services
- Living Options
Location:
Various locations across Northern Ireland
Hours:
Most activities will take place between 9.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday although some events may take place at weekends or during the evening. Time commitment is flexible and ideally Volunteer Support Workers should be available 2- 3 hours per week on a regular basis to assist with planned activities.
Skills Required:
Essential skills are patience, empathy, reliability and a genuine commitment to working as part of team to help others.
Some roles require more specific skills such as ICT experience.
