Training for Success - Specialist Support Service
What is the Service?
The Cedar Foundation in partnership with RNIB NI will provide a specialist service within Training for Success for young people with disabilities and/or sensory impairment across all of Northern Ireland.
The overall aim of the service is to provide customised support to individual trainees, training organisations, FE colleges, and employers to maximise the achievement of individuals skills, qualifications and employment opportunities.
The specialist support will be delivered by professional, fully trained staff experienced in working with training organisations and supporting young people with complex needs. All staff are screened to meet the requirements of Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults legislation.

- Adaptive Technology assessment and guidance, including support to both trainees and training organisations in the use of specialist equipment;
- Support with finding appropriate employment positions and work sampling placements, including job coaching, interview support;
- Guidance and support in assessment, action planning, monitoring and review and identification of sustainable progression routes.
- Signposting support and linkages to other agencies e.g. Social Services;
