Cross the Andes on Horseback
24 January - 2 February 2009
The Andes mountains form the back-bone of Chile and Argentina, and are home to some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring scenery in the world. Mt Aconcagua, the highest peak outside the Himalayas, rears only a short distance to our north. Travelling by horse like the pioneers of old gives us a truly unique experience and a real insight into gaucho culture - Argentina's cowboys.
Starting near Argentina's wine capital Mendoza, we ride through beautiful alpine valleys and over high passes with breathtaking scenery of snow-capped peaks. We cross the Andes into Chile, and celebrate our adventurous achievement in its cosmopolitan capital, Santiago.
