Commitment to Excellence
To effectively manage its activities, The Cedar Foundation has pioneered or played a leading role in the application of a range of quality initiatives in the Voluntary Sector in Northern Ireland.
During the 1990s, the organisation committed to a process of continuous improvement, gained recognition as an Investor in People organisation, a Charter Mark Award and ISO 9002 registration for the Assisted Living Scheme and subsequently making the transition to ISO 9001:2000.
The Cedar Foundation has been twice awarded the Mark of Excellence (2002 and 2004). In addition the Foundation’s Training Services have won 5 National Training Awards and were one of the first three organisations in Europe to be awarded the European Quality in Rehabilitation Mark (EQRM) in 2003.

The Cedar Foundation was delighted to be awarded the prestigious Northern Ireland Quality Award on Monday 30th January 2006. Achieving the Northern Ireland Quality Award confirms The Cedar Foundation as "a role model organisation in Northern Ireland that has developed a mature approach to continuous improvement". The Cedar Foundation is also the first voluntary organisation to win this prestigious award.
In October 2007 The Cedar Foundation was awarded with The EFQM European Excellence Award. The EFQM Excellence Award is Europe’s most prestigious recognition for organisational excellence given to Europe’s best performing companies and not for profit organisations.
In November 2007 The Cedar Foundation gained IiP Champion status at an award ceremony in London. Gaining the “Champion” status, shows Cedar’s commitment to the development of its people, recognising their value in continuing to develop and deliver groundbreaking services for disabled people.
