Community Inclusion Programme
Supporting people with physical disability by offering socially inclusive, sustainable alternatives to traditional day services, through access to a wide range of community-based educational, vocational and social opportunities.
The programme seeks to:
- Assist participants to move on from traditional day services by providing sustainable alternative activities which are socially inclusive.
- Promote person centred planning methods and approaches, including personal networks and contacts.
- Promote and facilitate access to mainstream further education and vocational opportunities, leading to qualifications.
- Promote and facilitate access to community-based pre-vocational, Essential Skills, personal development and lifestyle management training.
- Facilitate access to college-based learning support
- Facilitate the delivery of disability equality training to training providers and other key stakeholders.
The Cedar Foundation works in partnership with community-based organisations, local Institutes of Further and Higher Education, training organisations, the private sector and a wide range of statutory and voluntary organisations, to deliver the Community Inclusion Programme.
