The Cedar Foundation Champions

The Cedar Foundation ChampionsDr Aideen McGinley, Permanent Secretary of the Department for Employment and Learning, recently recognised the achievements of The Cedar Foundation in being awarded the Investors in People Champion status and winning the EFQM European Quality Award.

Speaking at a reception held at Parliament Buildings, Dr McGinley paid tribute to The Cedar Foundation and said:

“The Cedar Foundation has demonstrated real commitment to the development of its people and clearly recognises the link between highly skilled staff and the benefits to organisational performance. In this case, effective staff development has led to better services for people with disabilities - including support for those who want to live independently.”



The Cedar Foundation ChampionsIn response, Dr Victor Patterson, Chairman of The Cedar Foundation said:

“We are delighted that Sir Reg Empey was able to sponsor and that Dr Aideen McGinley was able to attend this reception, it is indicative of the long and enduring partnership between The Cedar Foundation and The Department for Employment and Learning as we both work to promote opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in the social and economic life of Northern Ireland. We could only have achieved both the Investors in People Champion Status and the EFQM European Quality Award with this support.”



The Cedar Foundation ChampionsInvestors in People Champion organisations work with the Department for Employment and Learning’s Investors in People Centre to help other employers by sharing their experience and success in the area of staff development. Best practice sharing takes the form of mentoring and site visits to Champion organisations.
