Date Posted: Thursday 11 May 2006
The Cedar Foundation moved from its Galgorm based premises in April to the new purpose built site at Woodside Road Industrial Estate, Ballymena. Careful planning went into the building of the new Training and Resource Centre as it has been specifically built to meet the changing needs of the organisation and to ensure the best possible facilities for people with disabilities.
The Cedar Foundation trainees are already beginning to enjoy the new centre, some of the new features are:
Enhanced levels of accessibility in all areas of the building with automatic doors fitted throughout.
Toilet / wash room facilities to meet the needs of all service users
Fully accessible dining and recreation area for trainees
Pleasant welcoming environment with plenty of natural light
Multi-functional training rooms, social areas and meeting rooms.
Modern fully networked ICT facilities
Good road links to all parts of NHSSB catchment area
Plenty of car parking on site
Deidre Devlin, a Cedar Foundation trainee says:
”The new Centre is brilliant and very well equipped for the trainees. It is really great for me as I use crutches and the automatic doors make it so easy to move from room to room and get around the building.”
The new Centre also provides staff with a high standard of office accommodation and an excellent working environment.
Kieran Molloy, Head of Training Services adds:
“The new premises will be of enormous benefit in supporting The Cedar Foundation in its work in providing a range of opportunities for disabled people; to support them in accessing mainstream training and employment opportunities”.
The new address is The Cedar Foundation Training Services, 1a Woodside Road Industrial Estate, Woodside Road, Ballymena, Co Antrim, BT42 4QJ, Tel 028 2565 9111
