Crumlin New Parents' Group have raised over £1,500 in aid of The Cedar Foundation following their sponsored ‘Buggy Push’ held in September 2009. Departing from Lisburn Civic Centre and battling some unexpected heavy wind and rain, the group pushed their kids and buggies on a 5 mile walk to Lambeg and back again.
The group of parents who come from the Crumin and Lisburn areas meet together every Monday morning in a church hall in Crumin. They decided to support Cedar’s work and approach the charity with their fundraising idea as one of the mums has a child with Cerebral Palsy.
On Monday 19th October, Christine Tweedy, Cedar’s Fundraising Co-ordinator was invited to a meeting of the parent’s group to be presented with a cheque.
Speaking at this meeting Christine said; “On behalf of The Cedar Foundation I’d like to extend our thanks to all members of the Crumlin New Parents’ Group for participating in the buggy push and for coming up with a creative way to raise such a fantastic amount of money.”
