Belfast Marathon ExploredEast Belfast Explorer Scouts entered several relay teams in the recent Belfast Marathon to raise money for The Cedar Foundation. Overall they raised £440.00 which was presented this week to Christine Tweedie, Fundraising Co-Ordinator with the charity.

Ian McLachlan, Explorer Scout Leader said:

“East Belfast Explorer Scouts ran the Belfast Marathon relay race in May. We chose The Cedar Foundation as our charity as we have a scout who benefits from the work they do. It just goes to show you that young people today are willing to help other people and have fun while doing so. Well done to all the young people who ran the race and a big thank you to the people who gave their support”

Christine Tweedie, Fundraising Office with The Cedar Foundation added:

“The Marathon was a great fund-raising success for The Foundation with over 20 people from different areas taking part. It was great to see so many young people from the Explorer Scouts there on the day, a big thank you to them all for raising much needed funds that will go towards developing and delivering services for disabled people in Northern Ireland”
