Date Posted: Tuesday 28 September 2004

Hole in the Wall GangEver fancied getting yourself arrested for a good reason? That's exactly what The Cedar Foundation wants you to do at 12.30pm on Friday 29th October at the BT Tower, Belfast.

The Cedar Foundation's Jail & Bail, organized in conjunction with BT, is a high profile event, which is great fun and generates vital funds for the work of The Foundation. All you have to do is have a couple of hours to spare and be able to raise just £500 (or more if you want) as 'Bail' to get out of the BT Tower. On arrival at BT Tower, Lanyon Place you will be directed to 'jail' which is the executive lounge of the Tower, you will be charged with being a member of the caring community, fingerprinted and photographed.

You will be allowed two hours to raise your bail money. We suggest that you being a list of friends, colleagues and business contacts to call and if you want you can raise some of the bail money prior to the day and bring it with you. Special guest and chief prosecutor for the day will be Olivia Nash 'Ma' from Give my Head Peace", so you're guaranteed the 'craic' will be good and most importantly you will be raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.

Christine Tweedie, Fundraising Officer with The Cedar Foundation adds

"Jail & Bail really is a fun event and all you need to have to take part is a couple of hours, a good sense of humour and a relaxed attitude to being in the spotlight. Everyone who takes part thoroughly enjoys themselves and we give everyone a memento of the day, a copy of your fingerprints and a set of handcuffs lapel badge. It?s a great way to raise the profile and funds of The Cedar Foundation without taking up too much of anyone?s precious time".

The Cedar Foundation works in partnership with people with physical disability throughout Northern Ireland to deliver a range of services, which empower and support people with disabilities to be fully included in their communities.
