The Awards Ceremony, held at Malone House, was organised by The Cedar Foundation, whose Honorary Chairman Dr Victor Patterson said "The Cedar Foundation has been an Investor in People since 1997 and as such we are dedicated to ensuring a valued, challenged and committed workforce, this is reflected in the wealth and variety of accreditations achieved by our staff." He continued "The Cedar Foundation is no stranger to quality awards. We were the first winner of a Charter Mark award in partnership with a health & social services trust. The Cedar Foundation is also accredited with I.S.O 9002, has won four prestigious National Training Awards in the last five years, and we were delighted to be awarded the prestigious Mark of Excellence award last year."
Mr Martin, who presented the certificates said "On behalf of The Social Services Inspectorate, it is a pleasure to be involved in a ceremony which demonstrates the level of commitment of The Cedar Foundation to quality issues. The high standards of projects provided by The Cedar Foundation are reflected in reports by The Social Services Inspectorate which say The Cedar Foundation continues to demonstrate a highly developed sense of strategic vision, consulting widely with all stakeholders and provides a high calibre service in an effective and efficient manner."
The Cedar Foundation works in partnership with people with physical disabilities throughout Northern Ireland to provide a range of services, from supported living projects promoting independent living and community based support services to training that enhances skill and opportunities in education, training and employment. The Cedar Foundation also provides information and practical support services to parents and young people with physical disabilities. Central to all services are the themes of user involvement, inclusion and empowerment.
