Robert with Northern Ireland Civil Service Sports Association Ltd
Robert Cunningham is a young man being supported through Cedar’s Vocational and Employability Service to discover his talents in the world of work, currently with the grounds maintenance team with the Northern Ireland Civil Service Sports Association Ltd (NICSSA) Robert has Aspergers and Attention Deficit Disorder.
Phil McCormick, Grounds Manager with NICSSA, commented: “Robert has been part of our grounds maintenance team for a year now. He has helped us with tasks such as painting, rolling cricket wickets and grass strimming. He has settled in well with the other grounds staff and continues to be a popular member of our NICSSA team. NICSSA has been working with Cedar for a year now. Together we provide training for applicants in outdoor and sports based work. We look forward to continued success together”
Speaking of his own experience with NICSSA, Robert said: “I really enjoy my work placement . It has given me new experiences and I have gained skills in outdoor work. I have met new people and improved my self-confidence”.
