Best Quality Final Symposium
On 25th and 26th March, Cedar hosted the final workshop of the Best Quality project at its Training & Resource Centre in Belfast. During the sessions, 9 key features for Quality were established with 7 underlying criteria that will guide Social Care providers across Europe with adopting suitable Quality Management Systems.
Following on from these workshops, the findings of the Best Quality project were showcased at an International Symposium of the project at the University of Dortmund in Germany on 22nd September 2010. Representatives from the European Commission, the European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR), the Sponsors and Social Care providers from across Europe were in attendance. In an accompanying exhibition, the partners in the project presented several of the quality models applied by organisations providing services to elderly and disabled people. Cedar delegates showcased Investors in People and the EFQM Excellence Model.
As a result of the project Social Care organisations across Europe now have access to a self evaluation instrument which will assist them to identify which Quality Management System best suits their requirements as well as the specifications of the European Commission.
A publication on the findings of the project entitled 'Creating common rules and maintaining the diversity in doing so' is now available. This publication, and any further information on Best Quality is available on request from:
